She is a reimagining of the very first mermaid I drew when I was ten years old in 1978. Nearly five decades later, I returned to that childhood drawing and let her surface again as part of the Tide Sisters. She is the fifth Tide Sister in the collection, but in a way, she is also the first.
The Tide Sisters are a growing collection of small original mermaids, each with her own colors, expression, and personality. No two are exactly alike. They surface one by one—or sometimes in schools—as part of an ongoing collection of 300.
